Matia Oren was born in 1974 in Be'er Sheva and now lives in Jerusalem. She graduated in 2014 from The Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, majoring in visual arts. Over the years Matia was involved in painting and worked as an assistant in kindergartens in Jerusalem. She also studied in various programs and courses, for example at the print workshop in Jerusalem, where she also took part in a residency scholarship in 2016 in grid printing. She continued her studies in Bezalel and The Kubia Center for Arts in Jerusalem, and under the guidance of Alon Kedem at the youth wing of the Israel Museum. In June 2022 she joined the Telemachus program - an artist residency program at the "Atelier" art school in Tel Aviv. During her years of painting, she also held several solo and group exhibitions. The most prominent of which are two solo exhibitions at the Artists' House in Jerusalem in 2017 and 2019, a group exhibition at the Beer Sheva Museum in 2016 and a group exhibition "A Midsummer Night's Dream" at the Print Workshop in Jerusalem in 2017. Matia’s work will also be featured in a future exhibition at Maya Gallery, Tel Aviv, marking the end of the Telemachus program in June 2023.
