Maya Israel, born in 1974, lives and creates in Jerusalem. Painter, teacher and curator. Graduated with an M.F.A degree from the Department of Art, Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, Jerusalem (2008); M.A.A.T in art therapy and teaching certificate, David Yelin College (2003); and B.F.A from the Department of Art, Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, Jerusalem (2001). Israel participated in solo exhibitions, among them a solo exhibition at the שArt cube Art Cube Artist’s Studio’s Gallery, Jerusalem (2022); Feinberg Projects Gallery, Tel Aviv (2015); Jerusalem Artists House (2014); Contemporary Gallery, Tel Aviv (2010); Ashdod Museum of Art (2010); Haifa Museum of Art (2005). Selected group exhibitions, including Beta Gallery, Jerusalem (2018); Hansen House, Jerusalem (2015); Stein Rose fine art gallery (New York, 2014); Art Cube Artist’s Studio’s Gallery, Jerusalem (2010). Her works have been featured in art books and magazines including: ONE, a book featuring contemporary Israeli artists published by Benton, Italy; 5A Magazine (2017) and in NY Arts Magazine (2010). Winner of the prize for painting named after Shoshana Ish-Shalom (2015); The prize for the encouragement of creativity, M.F.A Bezalel (2007) and the scholarship Les vendemiairs, France (in 2000 and 2010). Her paintings and drawings are in public and private collections.
